Returning to the stage in 2024 with two sensational concerts, march into The Cube Wodonga and enjoy the spectacular Australian Army Band - Kapooka.
Talented musicians will bring brass, woodwind and percussion instruments to life in a concert line up that is sure to delight.
The action-packed School Spectacular during the day will give a little nod to work being studied by local students. The Variety Plus concert later in the evening will feature a stunning display of ensemble variety including virtuosic soloists, and of course – uplifting quick marches.
Since 1952 the Army Recruit Training Centre (ARTC) has been home to the Australian Army Band – Kapooka, a full-time military band. Originally a brass band of 12 members, the unit has grown in size and reputation. Currently maintaining a posted strength of over 20 musicians, the band has worked with some of Australia’s leading performers.
Proudly boasting a concert band, a stage band, a rock band, a jazz ensemble, a pep band as well as brass and woodwind groups, this versatility means that most genres of music can be performed and the band can cater for all musical tastes.
In addition to military and ceremonial roles, the band provides support to local and regional charitable organisations and communities in the region.
